Hello, dear lovely creators, I hope you are having a beautiful day. I'm glad I'm hale and healthy today to create something beautiful to share with you all.
It's a Kimono Bubu dress combined with sequined fabric, which belongs to my mum. I fell very ill yesterday night, I had a terrible stomach upset that all remedy and prescription from the pharmacist didn't cure, it was a terrible experience I don't even wish for my enemy, I used to have these sort of stomach upset episodes as a child but it all faded away when I had my first child, so I thought, until now, and since it was my mum who took care of me when I had those episodes, i had to plead with my husband to let her know my condition.
Thankfully, she doesn't live too far from me. After enduring the pain all night, at first light, this morning, she was already at my doorstep with a solution. I wondered how the situation would have turned out if I hadn't had her around. Within minutes, I felt better after taking the herbs she had prepared, and I feel better now. As a thank you, I decided to make her this beautiful Kimono outfit, before she leaves tomorrow. Mothers are the best, and I feel lucky to have mine at this stage of my life.
I had all the fabrics needed at home, so it was much easier for me to get started.
Materials Used
-
Ankare fabric
-
Black sequin fabric
-
Matching coloured thread.
Cutting And Sewing Process
- I started by folding the fabric into four, then I drafted out the shoulder, sleeves, dress length etc
- I cut out the back neckline first, before separating it to cut the front V-neckline
- Next, using the sequin fabric, I cut out a V-shaped facing, which I used in turning the front neckline
- I also cut the back facing for turning the back neckline in as well.
- Continuing, I also cut out the pocket patterns, which I joined to both sides of the front and back dress sides,
- Next, I also cut out the sequin fabric which I used to fold the sleeve hem
-
Then I joined them by the shoulder area
-
And finally joined the sides of the dress and hemmed it as well, and that completes the making process of this beautiful Kimono dress for mom.
She felt beautiful in her dress and appreciated it very much. I will surely make more beautiful dresses for my sweet mother.
