Happy New week, dear friends on Hive, I hope you all had a restful weekend, as we usher in another amazing week.

And what better place to start my new week on Hive than the #needleworkmonday. yea, i've got another simple and interesting sewing tutorial to share with you. A cute A-line dress I made for an adorable 3-year-old girl. Still in the mood of decluttering my sewing space, as working with different projects ovrtime, has left me with lots of left over fabrics, making my sewing room cluttered with too much leftover fabrics, and for someone like me who likes a breathable space, but also doesn't have the heart to throw away fabrics that could be upcycled to something pretty and functional, i've had to manage this discomfort due to the lack of time to make something out of the leftovers.

Today happened to be my free day off work, but instead of taking the day off, I could as much try and put some of the leftover fabrics to use, and just completed making this dress, I would also make a couple of other things I get inspired to, before the day comes to an end.

This dress would be gifted to my neighbor's daughter, and I hope it looks as cute as I imagine it will be on her. So without further ado, let's get right into the making process.
Materials Used

-
Ankara fabric
-
matching coloured thread
And of course, my sewing machine
Cutting And Sewing Process

-
I started by folding the fabric in bias or triangular form, then I drafted the dress front pattern directly and cut it out.

-
Using this pattern, I also traced out and cut the back of the dress with a shallower neckline

-
Next, I joined the front and back by the shoulders
-
I also piped around the neckline and slit opened at the back neckline

-
Continuing, I cut out the flare sleeves pattern
-
Then sewed them around both armhole area.

-
I also sewed in a button loop to the back of the dress
-
Then sewed the sides of the dress
-
Finally, I hemmed the base of the dress neatly, and that completes the making of this cute dress.

I hope you find the making process interesting and easy to follow through, as much as I did.
