Celebrar un año más de vida con nuestros seres queridos es de las bendiciones más grandes que podemos recibir, y aún me sorprende los años que Dios me ha concedido para disfrutar este día tan especial al lado de mi esposo.
Celebrating another year of life with our loved ones is one of the greatest blessings we can receive, and I am still amazed at the years God has given me to enjoy this special day with my husband.
Normalmente no hacemos reuniones tan formales porque preferimos cantar cumpleaños con una torta y listo, pero son 40 años los que cumplió mi esposo, así que no podíamos dejar escapar la oportunidad de festejar cómo se debe. Claro, tampoco es que tiramos la casa por la ventana, cómo dicen por ahí, pero nos esforzamos un poco en la organización del mismo.
We don't usually have such formal gatherings because we prefer to sing happy birthday with a cake and that's it, but my husband turned 40, so we couldn't pass up the opportunity to celebrate properly. Of course, it's not like we went all out, as they say, but we did put a little effort into organizing it.
Todo esto no pudo ser posible sin el apoyo de la familia de mi esposo, que a pesar de la distancia se hicieron presentes en la planificación y me ayudaron un montón a hacer de este día uno especial. None of this would have been possible without the support of my husband's family, who, despite the distance, were involved in the planning and helped me a lot to make this day special. However, I know that he would have much preferred to be able to share this with his family, but everything has its time, and I know that this reunion will soon be possible.
Estoy agradecida con mi familia y amigos por apoyarme en todo lo que se me ocurre, y por compartir con nosotros cada momento de alegría. Tuvimos una noche divertida, comimos bastante dulce y hasta se vio una película, así que hicimos un poco de todo. Terminé bastante cansada después de todo, ya que también me tocó trabajar, pero siento que valió totalmente la pena pues mi esposo la pasó muy bien.
I am grateful to my family and friends for supporting me in everything I do and for sharing every moment of joy with us. We had a fun night, ate lots of sweets, and even watched a movie, so we did a little bit of everything. I ended up pretty tired after all, since I also had to work, but I feel like it was totally worth it because my husband had a great time.
