Dreams of Michael | Monomad

Capturing human emotion without any model or unscripted real emotion is really a difficult task for a photographer. Today, while holding my Canon R8, I roamed around near the seashore in my community.  There, I met Michael—a child with big dreams. While he was waiting with his father to go fishing, we talked a lot about his dreams and his family's current situation. I could feel the emotions from all the words that came from Michael. Some were really personal that I can't share. All I can say is that the life of Michael as a child is really difficult.|   In my place, kids as young as 12 to 14 already know how to fish or how to survive at sea. Today, I was able to capture an image that made me think about my own childhood—big dreams, and always thinking about the future. Capturing this kind of situation touches my heart. I can relate to how hard life really is here. No matter what the situation is, we have to work hard to survive.   I’m writing this journal in a freewriting way, where I just share my observations and reflections from the picture without worrying too much about grammar. I don’t care about perfect grammar; I just want to share the reflections and human emotions behind the photographs.   For future generations that are fortunate enough to not need to experience the difficulties in life, be thankful for the hard work of your parents.
