On Saturday morning I was up at 6AM and got my post up. At 7:15AM I went to pull the shades up and the sun was just touching the tops of the trees so I went out for a photo.

When I stepped out the back door, I was astounded to see no leaves! It had been very windy in the night which was why I hadn’t gotten up earlier. I had lain in my warm bed listening to the wind roar around the house.

The afternoon before I had been dreading having to mow up so many leaves.

I had been thinking how heavy the tarps would be to get them off with the leaves on.

Then I came around the northeast side of the house. This is where they had all blown to. My brother has a leaf blower and if it’s in his car, I will try to use it to get the leaves out of the flowerbeds. But these can be rather easily scooped into totes and dumped over the bank.
Back in the house, I got breakfast and cleaned up the kitchen. I sat down for a while, and then decided to get on the treadmill. I’d made it about 1 minute when the phone rang. By the time I got to it, they’d hung up. So I got back on and the phone rang again. Sigh… This time I made it to the phone and it was my window guy postponing until next Saturday. Well, I gave up on the treadmill and decided to try to pay bills. But none of the statements had come in from the bank yet. So I gave up that.
I realized it was November 1 and after Halloween, so I turned on my Christmas music. I’d been wanting to play it for the last couple weeks, but decided to wait until after Halloween. When my son heard it, he had plenty of comments, but too bad so sad….

It was at this point I decided I would take a day off. So I made a cup of tea, got my book and sat down and read most of the day, listening to music. Around 2 PM I took a short nap.
I made some supper, read some more, and went to bed around 8PM. Except for my sister calling me off and on about Christmas stuff, it was a quiet day.
On Sunday Tom is coming at 9AM (after the clocks fall back) and we are going to work on birdhouses. Then I have to clean up the leaves in the flowerbeds. That ought to finish me off. It’s to be a cool sunny day.
