Color along the swamp by the front pasture
On Wednesday I had a lot to do before my window guy showed up. I got my post up and the kitchen cleaned up. Then I went upstairs and got that ready for washing windows.
I sat down for a while and got a call from the hay guy. He said he was bringing the next 20 bales a bit later. When I had been upstairs I had decided to send the 3 small braided rugs out for cleaning. My old cleaning company had closed, so I found a new one. They said they’d be out midday to pick them up.
Then I got a call from the company for my window guy. He wanted to come an hour early. So I got up and got a shower and started prepping the office for doing windows.

I always get the big windows in the office done first because they are the hardest. That took an hour and a half with all the interruptions. We finally got started on the smaller windows and they went pretty fast. I had the same guy I’d trained in the spring, so that was a great thing.
But I wasn’t able to get as many windows done as I hoped. There were still 4 of the smaller ones in the upstairs we didn’t get to.

The contractor called and said he’d be out to paint the part of the porch that was ready. It sure does look nice again. He’ll be starting the other side soon. It’s nice to know it won’t rot out again.

At some point the hay guy came and unloaded the next 20 bales. I now have 40 for the Big garden.

We’ve gotten some color as the month has rolled on. And the rainstorms haven’t knocked all that many leaves off. Usually by now most of them are down.
When we finished in the office, we didn’t put things back but just went upstairs to get as many windows done as we could. I realized when I came in just before supper that I would have to put things back as I needed to light a fire and all the plants were hanging next to the stove.
So I put most everything back where it went. I got some supper, pulled the shades and got the stove going. I didn’t get to bed until nearly 9PM.
On Thursday I am going with my brother to put mums on my mom’s grave. She died a year ago. I have to be back by noon as my helper friend is coming. I hope to get out to the garden and either get some mulching done, or more cleaning out. I hope to have my #1 intern but I haven’t asked yet.
So another busy day…
