On Saturday it was raining when I got up. I got the shades up, fed the cat and made myself a cup of hot cacao. Then I set to work on the photo project.
I put the big frame together after I made the tiny mats for the edges. And it would not support even the plexiglass. The sides bowed out. So I got it all together, then used tiny brads and wire and pulled the sides together.
I had 3 smaller photos to frame so I found the frames for them. I made a mat for one and got them all together.
Next I got all the hooks and nails for each picture and put the hanging bits on the frames. For the big frame, I used 5 along the top and I will use 3 for the wire, to take some of the weight off the top.
I’m hoping my #3 intern will come on Sunday and help me hang them up.
The rain knocked off a lot of the magnolia blossoms
I had a huge mess to clean up from this project so I set to that. Once I got to my new desk, I found another project that wasn’t finished.
I had a lot of DVDs without cases, so I sat down and spent the afternoon making new ones. It continued to rain all afternoon.
Tulips in the rain
I’d had to repair the door to the woodstove as the gasket had come loose. So I couldn’t light a fire until it was past curing time. That would be long after I was in bed so my son lit it when he got home.
So I just made a late supper, pulled the shades and went to bed. I was listening to the rain as I fell asleep.
On Sunday I have a lot of things to get done to prepare for windows on Monday. Hanging the pictures tops the list, followed by cleaning the kitchen, laundry, and starting to move things away from the windows in the office. There are 7 windows in there to do. I should also either work on the estate inventory (remember that?), or pay bills. And if my #3 intern does come, he will be moving the ash pile to over the bank. And the wood guy might bring the masonry heater wood.
So another busy day.
