As a believer, on of the things that we should abstain from is domestic violence because it does not glorify the name of our God. In the world that we leave in today, we can see how domestic violence has become a normal thing, man beating his wife and vice versa.
God hates domestic violence and he has warned us against it. Domestic violence does not necessarily have to be with the man alone, it also concerns the woman because when you exchange negative and derogatory words at home, it is also a form of domestic violence which can later lead to breakup or divorce amongst homes.
As believer, the we want to continue to receive favour in the sight of God, we should run away far from violence because God hate those who partake in such act. The are like a castaway in the sight of God.
`Psalm 11:5; The Lord examines the righteous, but the wicked, those who love violence, he hates with a passion.`
Our God is full of love and that is where we always see him where love is shared, a house that is filled with love will always have the presence of God, but a house filled with violence, God will distance himself from such home.
` 1 Corinthians 13:4-5: Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud... It is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.`
However, God has commanded the wife to be submissive to her husband and he has also instructed the men to always love their wife just like the same way our merciful God is showing love to the church. In his holy words, it says;
`Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it." — Ephesians 5:25`
So therefore, if you are an abusive partner, you need to run back to God so that all your sins will be forgiven and wiped out.
