When Memory Becomes More Than Ours

As humans we often seek perfection not because we are not perfect, but because we are not satisfied and content with who and what we are. We are created wonderfully and faithfully in the image of our maker, so why seek for what is not there? Looking at the topic, I am very sure that some lab experiments are going on somewhere, and from all the movies that I have watched where normal human brains are swapped with chips, the end result is always brutal, which is why I like my brain this way; I do not want perfection. I have given a lot of thought to what makes our memories so unique and precious. Is it because over time, they tend to disappear, like a mighty wind in the middle of an ocean? Or is it because they are using intimate reminiscences of our personal stories, not abridged or shortened by the hand of anyone? Now, come to think about it, you have an infinity chip in your head that stores all your memories in the best form and full detail; no need for a jotter, notebook, or diary, not even photographs, but everything stored in your memories. All the things you have done, how you did it, when you did it, all the tears you have shed, all your laughter and smiles, all the people you have met, everything still persevered and is instantly ready to be used whenever you wish to. Isn't that tempting enough? Now, whenever I watch those types of movies, as earlier stated, where it is possible to have a perfect memory and recall everything, the question that keeps coming up in my mind is, is there still room for humanity with all these? https://img.leopedia.io/DQmXEqRKR9aS8QSd2CCXDQB8PkumvND3GpSXGzqyHE1DgKe/AQOCGiLod17-D7305Wn-BI2w1-zY0zy-adKonRiFSqn1-Lj8b5FN_COtUREGVk1NaB9-posD7M8YjgBiZcrAjdfbignOCpBhEU-9EZ8M83cv2MzYs-_m5myocaHZud79YUS3ORu2YzcCTdydhIps84ijVr4G.jpeg It is a gift and also a curse. Ask me why? There is always this joy and relaxation that comes when you can remember something the exact way, like the embrace of someone you cherish, the precise tone of their voice while talking, or the sweetness all around you when you heard that good news. Yet, what about those memories you wish to let go of permanently? That betrayal from a loved one, the pain from the past, the bitter words someone said to you, that painful rejection, will they be running after you if you are in perfect human shape? We have been designed and created naturally to forget because it brings peace and healing. When your memories fade away, it does not mean you lose them; it is a means of surviving. Connection or control? Though using a chip brain, we tend to remember everything in detail, but what is the beauty of humanity when we tend to remember everything? We are meant to experience and feel things. When we have those imperfect memories, we benefit from them, and they let us imagine deeply, which makes us creative. But here is my concern: come to think of it this way, assuming we have a chip memory, who is the owner of those memories? Can those memories be changed or altered or even accessed or stolen? The memories we have are not just about pictures or moments shared; they are what constitutes us as humans, so forfeiting those memories means a part of our life has been wiped out. https://img.leopedia.io/DQmak1DsfEBgnvk3zfH7A7YSMcMkaAVz1pnu6LPkZMw5E3h/AQPTMMTk5-I-t7C2eyE5Ac8C77HkxUwZUNGdcuxf7jfFk9YR1rCvKFgWhKOG9iMW0sdRIVZbRVR8UD467-vM-9c05FsmODPQzZse4HzlGizBuEc_ybsrQgC4lArmhPdVCjT-rGK9WPDGNKf9h_mLbDgGmI6zSQ.jpeg Here is my Choice on this prompt in general Yeah, if I have the chance to choose either to swap to chip memory, without thinking twice, I will choose to have a human memory. Not because I am afraid or something, but because I cherish and admire the balance that we have between forgetting things and choosing to remember those things. The heart breaks that I have gotten over, the unexpected disappointment, the feelings of joys and happiness, the lost moments, those things are part of what I cherish. At the end of it all, memory is not all about having everything intact, it is about holding on to important things that matters. And sometimes, the eccense of life is not about remembering every detail, but living in it that even if we cannot remember everything, the feeling and beauty of life still lives with us. --- Thank you for reading. >
