We are being reminded of the transformative power of God, which should be encoded in our hearts. In James 1:21, we are being urged to lay aside filthiness and naughtiness in order to receive meekness from the word that saves our souls.
This is not just a mere suggestion. This is a choice as believers that we should alert the divine to cleanse us as we are from evil. Including those who are hot tempered. All these things can hurt our relationship. Especially when we fall in love.
In Ephesians 6:4, there are so many challenges about fathers which talk about them not provoking their children to rot, but to nurture them in the way of the Lord. Brother Eli started to tell us we should live by God's example, which is in the Long offering.
Even as seen in 2 Peter 3:9 and even in Psalm 1:3-8. Where the Lord even described that we should be crucial, we should be merciful, and we should be slow to anger. We are called to live a life of patience. Being easy to hear and slow to speak. And even slow to anger.
In Proverbs 19:18, we are being warned that we should save ourselves from all restraining words. It might lead us to sin. That is where we don't lie. When we equate the word of God in our hearts, we can shift from all those anchors. To love suffering. But be patient with letting God's love in our hearts and live it according to how he has commanded us to live.
So let us choose to live a life of truth. The way he guides us so that we can transform ourselves to a vessel of his grace and mercy in our lives.
