Brother Eli gave us the truth about human frailty against the urge to sin.
From the scripture of James chapter 1 vs 14, which says "everyone is tempted when he is drawn away of his own loss and enticed".
In this process, every believer has read the truth of reason we lust over the flesh is because what we see with our eyes and what we feel with our body. So our body is relentless as our enemies, whether you are a believer or not, we face all these battles.
Brother Eli is trying to let us know that we should not shy away from this matter of reality. Unlike those preachers also who are bold enough to speak about this sensual lust of the flesh, which causes sin. This is a powerful point, which was also done in Jeremiah 10, verse 22, that sometimes we can't fix ourselves as believers.
No amount of effort that we make, or our education, or our spiritual background, or human, can correct our body or save us from a sinful nature. In the book of Proverbs 16, vs 9, this also reminded us that while we plan our ways, only the Lord is the one who directs our steps.
So this is also a wake-up call, that we should help ourselves, and we are not perfect. Only through the help of the Holy Spirit that can wash us clean and renew us of the spirit.
We are in a world where people are so obsessed with self-reliance. But at least trying to tell us that this we need divine intervention to help us from our sinful nature. We need the power of God to overcome the lust of the flesh and find freedom in the life of every believers.
