Brother Elisoriano teaching about speaking in tongues, as being the one that has shaped my understanding of what it really means. So many people think that speaking in tongues is about producing those strange sounds, that sounds so unfamiliar to one.
But it has been clear that the Bible presents a very different explanation to this. In the book of Acts, the Apostles were the Galileans when they spoke through the power of the Holy Spirit. People from different nations had messages in their own language. That means that two tongues were actual human language that other people can understand.
It wasn't just an art of communication that qualified God and reached the hearts of listeners in a language that they understood. Brother Eli also told us that modern religious practices have drifted from the original biblical meaning. Today, many preachers claim to speak in tongues, but often the words have no meaning.
There is no translation, and there is never a connection to the real language on earth. Speaking in tongues, as shown in Scripture, is not just about confession. It is that, at least, to speak another real language, which is for the purpose of spreading God's truth.
