We have to have faith in God before we can pass it down to our children or loved ones. Having faith is a spiritual exercise, and it's the spirit that gives life to the flesh, and the spirit can only be fed by the word of God. For our faith to grow and be strong in God, we must build it by the word of God because the word of God is spirit and its gives life to our faith.
John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
Faith is fortified and sustained by hearing the word of God; this is its spiritual food. If faith is not fed daily by the word of God, it will die.
Therefore, to pass our faith to our children or loved ones, we have to feed them the word of God daily and also teach them to depend on the words of God to keep faith alive. When our children grow with the word of God as their daily spiritual food, their faith in God will not be shaken even when we are not with them anymore.
