While I also got a haircut this is more about Nadi, who got to go an inordinate amount of time between haircuts because of my lack of ability to move. I don't think that she minded the extra wait because as you may know she is not a fan of getting haircuts anyway.
She knows the shop when I pull up to it and always fights me a little bit on the way to the door. In the end she complies though, because she is a good little doggy and it's only for about an hour and a half anyway.

This is the night before and definitely is not a good picture. It also showcases how poor my diet has been lately and how I really need to focus on taking my trash out more frequently. Dog haircuts are not the only thing that has suffered since I broke some bones.
But the next day we headed to the Xu Bong dog salon anyway.

She didn't know it at the point that I took this pic,but the next day was going to be what is normally her monthly salon torture session.
It always pains me a bit to leave her there because as the worker is carefully carrying her away she locks eyes with me in a pleading sort of way like she is waiting for me to rescue her at any moment. I think her heart must drop a little once they turn the corner and I can no longer see her.

The good news about these haircut days is that the rest of the day is spent with me in "apology mode" and she gets treats and attention for the rest of the day. I think that if she has the capacity to understand it, that she would agree that it is worth it all.

We are entering the time of year here soon where the weather is going to start to become a lot cooler so I had them leave her fur a bit longer than I would normally do it. If push comes to shove though, I do have a couple of cute little coats that she can wear as well. I don't normally like putting clothes on dogs but if can keep her warm, we will use it.

This is a basic day inside my condo: Nadi staring at me any time that I move to go do anything, even if it is just because my glasses are on the other side of the room. She is so nervous and just wants to go with my anywhere that I go and this is how I am able to trick her into going to the haircut place in the first place.

While such behavior is normally frowned upon, she gets a free pass on haircut days to have a closer look at what I am eating. This time, it was some sort of pork ramen that I have been really enjoying lately. I would tell you what it is called, but I don't remember. I just blindly clicked on something on the Japanese restaurant and when it arrived it was good so I just click "order again" when I return to the app to have it done again.

While she was away at the beauty salon I took this opportunity to wash her bedding and she got a nice fresh bed on my bed for that night as well. It is kind of funny to me how she doesn't really like it at first because it smells too clean. I really believe that dogs, if they had their choice, would always lie in filth rather than something that actually smells good. It could also be because detergent probably smells powerfully like soap to them since their noses are so much more powerful than our own.

It was a busy day of haircuts followed by excessive amounts of treats and belly rubs and maybe after a few hours of that Nadi kind of forgives me for making her go there.
This is an unfortunate aspect of having a non-shedding dog and Nadi is the first kind of dog in my life that I have ever had that their hair will never fall out. It is kind of good as far as keeping your house free of fallen hair all the time is concerned, but just like with a human head, it means you have to take them to get it cut off at least once a month. Just like my buddies on here that have or have had dogs know though, the older they get , the less well they take the trips to the salon. I will need to invest in some good-quality clippers at some point in the future as in just over a month we will be celebrating Nadi's 12th birthday.
