Being Quiet Isn't Always Peaceful

Many times, calm people are often bullied, disrespected and taken for granted. And sometimes I wonder if it's a crime to be quiet?

Let's just talk it out, this silence isn't peaceful. It's eating deep.

This is mostly for those who are introverts. The way people mistake their silence for weakness is so disappointing. They feel that these quite ( introverts) ones can't fight back so they cross boundaries they wouldn't even dare cross with the louder(extrovert) people.

People would still complain that you didn't bend properly for them to step on you.

Recently, I had an issue with who mistake my calmness for weakness. She felt shouting while talking means making a point or even making others scared of her. I was the wrong person she would want to intimidate.
She walked into my shop and took my goods for without asking or any prior understanding between us. When I spoke about it she flared up and said I wasn't supposed to talk about it or even react. She tried to gaslight me, but I stood my ground.
And guess what? That changed everything. She realized her mistake and is now trying to make amends.

That moment reminded me that being quiet doesn't mean accepting disrespect. You can be calm and still have boundaries, you can be sof- spoken and still speak up for yourself.
It's Okey to be peaceful but not when it going to cost you your dignity. Say what needed to be said respectfully, firmly and truthfully.
