Forever is too long to be spent this way.
Sometimes peace at home isn’t real peace — it’s just silence.
It's a peaceful Sunday and I couldn't let my mind off what I watched this afternoon on my Instagram page, a lady was talking about how she had to get a divorce.
She started explaining how it all started , she said the both of them never fought that the home was so quiet but she never felt peace and her husband doesn't like to talk about things. She said they were not emotional connected and they were literally roommate.
I felt it, like one can literally be in a quiet area or place and wouldn't have any peace of mind. Deep down that silence they feel heavy, there are unspoken words, swallowed tears, and a heart that is walking on eggshells.*
Funny enough that's how some families live, everyone is quite but no one is truly at peace. They forced smiles, they avoid conversation, and then love feels like a duty instead of something alive and warm.
Have real connection, where conversation flows, the love is warm, leave life together.
Honestly, that kind of silence is so exhausting . It will make you question yourself, the home will feel like a place you want to escape from.
Real peace isn't silence, rather it's being able to laugh freely, to disagree and resolve without fear, to sit together without walls between you. It's comfort, safety and warm love.
Don't be fooled by the quiet home_ because most times the loudest pain lives in silence.
Before you assume that everything is fine ask your partner these questions:
What's one thing weighing in your heart lately that I may not know?
Do you feel emotionally safe with me truly? If not where have I made it hard for you?
When was the last time you felt seen, heard or cherished by me?
Are we stuck in a pattern that feels functional but not fulfilling?
What is something you wish we'd talk about more, but feel Afraid to bring it up?
While you ask this listen, I mean really listen to what they say and try to figure it out together. Because real peace is being able to understand each others silence.
