Motherhood, hustle, and healing: finding the balance.

We are women, beautifully made but with different bodies and coping mechanisms. I am saying this because I recently came across a story of a woman who shared how she started her business just three weeks after a C-section According to her she said she strapped her baby to her back and push through, determined to hustle and make her own money. Her story was inspiring, no doubt but it's also made me pause to reflect.

The truth is our bodies are different. What worked for her may not work for another woman.

Childbirth is one of the most life-changing experiences a woman can go through. It takes so much from us physically, emotionally, and mentally. A lot is taken away from you during pregnancy and delivery, and recovery doesn’t happen overnight. I understand she is trying to discourage laziness and encourage hardwork. But hustling is important. We all want financial independence, and I don’t encourage laziness. But at the same time, health should always come before wealth. Pushing your body beyond its limit too soon can cause long-term damage.

So, I'm order to gain balance, Listen to your body. Don’t compare your journey to another woman’s. Get and accept all the help from family, and friends,. And most importantly, remember that being a mother is already work. Don’t let anyone guilt you into thinking you’re not doing enough. At the end of the day, the key is: do what works for you.

How soon did you return to work after childbirth? Do you think society pressures women too much to bounce back quickly? All images source
