For me, I did not always pick books anyhow, I always do my thorough research before picking any book to read. Few months ago, I read a book title Cry of the Spirit. It is actually a book that for me, it is not just an ordinary Christian book, it is a Christian book that ironed my faith and makes me to understand deeply the understanding about faith teachings. For me it was really a spiritual awakening for me. ![IMG_20250720_180807.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/goshen/AK7wiMeHLpvR2ctnxvyKaLZZnaerTpgZWUwyW4xtnBxXcZFPeCM2qawjMnbLAWh.jpg) The author is actually something I really admire and honour so much. Smith Wigglesworth is someone I really admire so much in the journey of faith because for me, he is not just a preacher, he is someone that have walked closely with God and have demonstrated the power of the holy spirit in his life. I have listened to some of his messages and also listened to some of the experience he has shared. There are a whole lot of power of the holy spirit. For me, I always see his messages as something so raw and full of divine authority. This book after reading it really opened my eyes to a whole lot of things I was not doing right and somethings I should start doing right. It helps to actually deeply my walk with God actually I must confess. ![IMG_20250720_180836.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/goshen/AK2Diu3kYDpK6JDyCGUJn1SkkmzddsqsypcXgvauFkjoPPTFq88zKysYsAAMTiY.jpg) ![IMG_20250720_180845.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/goshen/AK6YPD4F3kGLfQ9oR23nqFVCqvPKksAJiLnHD4ygh42UZYsozC4GvHzMkZYz1Gv.jpg) Just as the title of the boll, the central message of the book is to opened the readers eyes to see that the Holy Spirit Is still working wonder and in power even in today. The book makes me realise that God is still actually calling his people to walk in holiness, to work in supernatural power and many more. The book makes me to understand that it is still possible for you to live a life without fear and compromise. It might be difficult but it does not mean it is not possible. Most especially, the book talks about how I can work in the power of faith. One of the things the author makes me to understand that really stand with me for so long is the fact that there is actually nothing that is impossible for God to do as far as a believer believes in God. He also backed it up by sharing a lot of real life examples of healings, miracles and many more that happened when he was still in the ministry. ![IMG_20250720_180824.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/goshen/AK9QVVMwanjoLgCPM8V5iizrbttsCPZ9HhMfFcDH9xhtSx1B5fpmKbbDe5amgzY.jpg) ![IMG_20250720_180828.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/goshen/AK56naA2UWdiQrNyYZiJ1TqQVyXY1MGfWxcYknw4TRoUJNhnK5GZkqXh8fD92eo.jpg) But I also love the fact that he also balances it in the book. He made me understand that even though it is possible to walk in the power of faith, it is still not possible without purity and holiness. Most of the time, the mistake a whole lot of people always make is the fact that they always think they can work in supernatural power if only they have faith. But faith is not enough, you will need to walk in purity and holiness actually. Your heart must actually be clean. The book makes me understand that I must actually live a life that must please God and not the other way around. The author of the book also speaks about prayer, not just ordinary prayer, but prayer that brings results. He teaches that prayer is not for begging but for aligning with the will of God. He believed that the secret place is where believers win battles before they ever show up in public. There were actually a whole lot of lessons I learnt from reading the book. The first is the fact that Faith is a lifestyle not a moment. That particular statement in the book really touched me. The second lesson I learnt from the book which I have also talked about earlier is the fact that Holiness is power and power depends on Holiness to actually function. I also learnt that if you want to live a life that is actually filled of purpose, you must depend on the holy spirit in every day of your life. The earlier you understand this, the better it will actually be for many of us. ![IMG_20250720_180849.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/goshen/AKAqntnyih2DYkaDkFf8p98pLsuuHyRCLsr8zjC7UvqqehaHw52ov1JbY9HMLCp.jpg) ![IMG_20250720_180816.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/goshen/AKDiw3up1soRG2dM1vCko95rchBU35unBP72TJVp8JFX8RBRzZMBG19BGny5sUB.jpg) ![IMG_20250720_180812.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/goshen/AK3fxVh7Qiqt6WLejkFj3abEMUdd9aDSUMNtWzLM9GwgpRCEdFgs96YoSZP7dew.jpg) I also learnt the fact that God uses ordinary people. That part also touches me. Those people that we always write off thinking that God can't use, that is who God ends up using the most. The last thing I will like to talk about is the fact that miracles are really real. Most of the time, a whole lot of people always think miracles are not real. It is not actually true. Miracles are real. In a country like Nigeria where many are hungry for true revival, this book is a treasure. We have seen too many fake prophets and motivational messages in churches today. But Cry of the Spirit takes you back to the roots of the faith, the raw power of God, the fear of the Lord, and the call to live a surrendered life. Many young people are looking for purpose, and many Christians are tired of routine religion. This book answers that hunger. It will make you cry, repent, rejoice, and believe again. It will push you to dig deeper into your Bible and pray like never before. If you’re a pastor, evangelist, or a leader in church, this book will shake you. It will remind you that ministry is not about titles or crowds, but about being filled with the Spirit and being obedient to God.If you’re just a normal believer who wants to know God more, this book will light a fire in you. You don’t need to be a preacher to enjoy this book, you just need a heart that is hungry for more of God.
