Greetings, dear friends of this community @throwbackthursday, which every Thursday helps us stimulate our memory through images of events we have already experienced but will never forget.  On this occasion, I got these photos of my mother's 99th birthday, which we celebrated at her house with a cake made by my wife, together with my brothers and some of my nephews and nieces. As I have mentioned in several posts, my mother is a woman who dedicated her life to working to take care of her children, and in those days, even though the cost of living was not as high as it is now, it was not easy to raise, educate, and feed six children.  Nowadays, it is almost unthinkable to support a large family, as the resources needed for food, education, health, and services are considerable, and salaries do not help much, as we are experiencing enormous inflation.   Recently, my daughter told me that there were mothers with young children in the hospital who didn't like staying with them to care for them. I told her that when one of us was hospitalized, my mother would spend the whole day at the hospital taking care of everything, talking to the doctors, and only going home to rest for a while before returning the next day. My mother has been very strong in the face of illness. She has always suffered from high blood pressure and osteoarthritis, but after contracting COVID-19, she developed diabetes after turning 80. This shows the importance of eating well and eating healthy food from a young age.    We currently consume a lot of junk food, high in calories and carbohydrates and low in protein, which is damaging our health and stealing years from our lives. My mother turned 101 last July and, thank God, she has remained in good health, although she still has heart and diabetes problems. It is now our turn to take care of her, just as she did for us. En esta oportunidad conseguí estas fotos del cumpleaños número 99 de mi mamá que celebramos en su casa con una torta que le hizo mi esposa, junto a mis hermanos y a algunos sobrinos. Como ya lo he dicho en varias publicaciones, mi mamá es una mujer que dedicó su vida a trabajar para cuidar de sus hijos, y en esos tiempos, a pesar que el costo de la vida no estaba tan elevado como ahora, no era fácil levantar, educar y alimentar a seis hijos.  Actualmente resulta casi impensable, mantener una familia grande, pues los recursos que hay que disponer para los gastos de alimentación, educación, salud y servicios es considerable y los sueldos no ayudan mucho, pues estamos viviendo una inflación descomunal.   Recientemente mi hija me comentó que habían madres con hijos pequeños hospitalizados que no les gustaba quedarse con ellos en el hospital para atenderlos. Yo le comenté que mi mamá cuando alguno de nosotros estaba hospitalizado, pasaba todo el día en el hospital pendiente de todo, hablando con los médicos y solo iba a la casa a descansar un rato para volver al día siguiente. Mi mamá ha sido muy fuerte ante las enfermedades. Lo que siempre ha padecido es de hipertensión y artrosis, pero luego de pasar el covid, quedó padeciendo de diabetes ya después de haber cumplido los 80. Esto demuestra la importancia de alimentarse bien, con comida sana desde la juventud.    Actualmente consumimos mucha comida chatarra, alta en caloría y carbohidratos y baja en proteínas, lo cual nos va deteriorando la salud y robándonos años de vida. Ya mi mamá cumplió los 101 años en julio pasado y gracias a Dios se ha mantenido con buena salud, aunque sigue con sus problemas cardíacos y de azúcar. Nos toca a nosotros cuidar de ella así como ella lo hizo con nosotros. Me despido hasta el próximo jueves de tbt amigos de hive.
