I miss the days when you were paid your salary in an envelope and you could touch the bills, count them over and over again, pay with them, and put them in your wallet. I recently heard on the radio that studies have shown that people who handle physical bills are happier than those of us who make transfers and handle money digitally. Apparently, having the bills visible and counting them gives a sense of financial security or something like that. When my wife left the bank, with her account already registered, she used the ATM to withdraw all the money she had accumulated there from her social security pension. I helped her use the ATM, because it had been so long since we had used one that we had forgotten how. The money she withdrew from the bank is only enough to pay for the tickets and to tip the people who look after the cars. Cuando mi esposa salió del banco, con su cuenta ya registrada, usó el cajero para sacar toda la fortuna que allí tenia acumulada por su pensión del seguro social. Yo le ayudé a manejar el cajero, porque hacia tanto tiempo que no lo usábamos, que se nos olvidó como manejarlo. Los billetes que ella sacó del banco solo sirven para pagar los pasajes y para colaborar con los que cuidan los carros.
