El día de hoy caminé por Plaza Venezuela, visité la nueva plaza que construyeron en honor a la victoria de la Unión Soviética ante la Alemania Nazi en la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Después de varios días escuchando noticias al respecto, decidí ir a visitarla en persona y aprovechar en realizar unas fotos.
Más que un espacio público, es un lugar que nos recuerda un hecho histórico muy importante y que no podemos olvidar. A pesar de que Venezuela, para la época de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, mantuvo una posición neutral, no podemos negar que el ejército rojo fue quien puso fin a la influencia Nazi en Europa y todo el mundo. Este monumento es muy relevante y más en una época dónde la información está manipulada gracias al avance de la tecnología y el dominio que tiene los grandes medios influenciados por ideologías.
Recordemos que la Unión Soviética no fue un estado comunista, fue una confederación socialista y su nombre completo fue “Unión de Repúblicas Socialistas Soviética”, conocido por su sigla «URSS», que estaban en vía a una sociedad comunista, cosa que no se logró por la mala administración de los líderes que siguieron después de Lenin y Stalin. Para muchos historiadores reflejan la disolución de la URSS como un acto de traición, ya que en una consulta popular en las distintas Repúblicas que confirmaban la URSS dio como resultado que más del 60% querían seguir con la unión. Hoy en día muchos de los habitantes rusos conservan en la memoria colectiva la Unión Soviética, y algunos con la esperanza de que algún día regrese la URSS.
Venezuela, que hasta el día de hoy sigue siendo un estado capitalista, con políticas con orientación socialista, rinde este honor a ese momento bélico, colocando la bandera que representaba a la URSS, la bandera roja, con el martillo y la Oz y una estrella. Esto no es una celebración, sino una conmemoración por aquellos que sacrificaron sus vidas ante la Alemania Nazi.
Este post no tiene un fin político, sino un fin histórico y curioso, aquí comparto lo investigado por mi cuenta de una manera objetiva. Espero que les guste.

Today I walked around Plaza Venezuela, I visited the new square that was built in honor of the Soviet Union's victory over Nazi Germany in World War II. After several days hearing news about it, I decided to visit it in person and take some pictures.
More than a public space, it is a place that reminds us of a very important historical fact that we cannot forget. Although Venezuela, at the time of World War II, maintained a neutral position, we cannot deny that the red army was the one who put an end to the Nazi influence in Europe and around the world. This monument is very relevant and even more so in an era where information is manipulated thanks to the advance of technology and the dominance of the big media influenced by ideologies.
Let's remember that the Soviet Union was not a communist state, it was a socialist confederation and its full name was "Union of Soviet Socialist Republics", known by its acronym "USSR", which were on the way to a communist society, which was not achieved by the mismanagement of the leaders who followed after Lenin and Stalin. For many historians reflect the dissolution of the USSR as an act of betrayal, since in a popular consultation in the different Republics that confirmed the USSR, the result was that more than 60% wanted to continue with the union. Today many of the Russian inhabitants keep the Soviet Union in their collective memory, and some with the hope that one day the USSR will return.
Venezuela, which to this day remains a capitalist state, with socialist oriented policies, pays honor to that moment of war, placing the flag that represented the USSR, the red flag, with the hammer and the Oz and a star. This is not a celebration, but a commemoration for those who sacrificed their lives to Nazi Germany.
