That day, the ride began like any other street skating session: with the simple idea of heading out into the neighborhood in search of new spots, different places, and unlikely obstacles that the city itself offers. The essence of street skating is precisely this: looking at the urban environment with new eyes, seeing possibilities where, for most people, only ordinary, neglected, or abandoned objects exist.

Naquele dia, o rolê começou como qualquer outra sessão de skate de rua: com a ideia simples de sair pelo bairro em busca de picos novos, lugares diferentes, obstáculos improváveis que a própria cidade oferece. A essência do street skate é justamente essa, olhar para o ambiente urbano com outros olhos, enxergar possibilidades onde, para a maioria das pessoas, só existem objetos comuns, descuidados ou abandonados.

It was on this walk that we came across an old car, completely forgotten on the street, marked by time and abandonment. To someone passing by in a hurry, it might have been just another piece of junk taking up space on the sidewalk. For us skateboarders, it was an immediate invitation to creativity. The car, no longer useful in traffic, became the perfect backdrop for the maneuver. It was an unusual spot, but charged with authenticity, because perhaps the next day it would no longer be there. This urgency to seize the moment is something only those who live skateboarding can grasp.

I decided to transform it into digital art, working on the image to further highlight what that moment represented. The editing wasn't just aesthetic, but symbolic: it was a way to immortalize the ride, to give that memory artistic weight, reaffirming the idea that skateboarding isn't just a sport, but also a cultural and visual expression.
Depois, olhando para a foto, percebi que ela merecia ganhar outra camada de significado. Resolvi transformá-la em arte digital, trabalhando em cima da imagem para destacar ainda mais o que aquele momento representava. A edição não foi apenas estética, mas simbólica: foi uma forma de eternizar o rolê, de dar àquela memória um peso artístico, reafirmando a ideia de que skate não é só esporte, mas também expressão cultural e visual.
The old car, which for many was just scrap metal, became the stage for a stunt and, through photography and digital art, ended up transforming into something much bigger. This process showed me how skateboarding and art intersect: both have the ability to reframe what surrounds us, both find beauty and meaning where before there was only neglect or oblivion.
O carro velho, que para muitos era apenas sucata, se tornou palco de uma manobra e, através da foto e da arte digital, acabou se transformando em algo muito maior. Esse processo mostrou para mim como o skate e a arte se encontram: ambos têm a capacidade de ressignificar o que está à nossa volta, ambos encontram beleza e significado onde antes só havia descaso ou esquecimento.
