My daughter's computer was making a buzzing noise. We sort of ignored it at first, but as it got louder and louder, eventually we had to address it. We shut down the micro-PC and investigated the problem.
When we powered it up, the boot screen gave an error message indicating the problem was a malfunctioning fan.
We found a replacement fan for $15.00 on Amazon. Once it arrived, we popped open the case. I carefully removed the old fan and installed the new one.
I could feel the resistance when spinning the old fan, compared to the new one that moved smoothly.
I put the PC back together and we powered it up...
We were delighted to see it power up and even more happy to hear no noise at all!
Rather than buying a whole new PC, a $15.00 fan and some time and effort restored our PC back like new!
Ever fix a computer before?
