It was quite the weekend, I spend the entire day in a parking lot! It's the GRATIOT CRUISE, where all the fancy car owners "cruise" down the street to show off their cars.
This year it was sponsored by the local township and they set up a "family fun zone" and I was able to set up a vendor tent as a sponsor.
This is my opportunity to introduce myself and show people what we do for local businesses and families in the area. Mainly supplemental insurance, a plan where we send cash to people in need, who are temporarily disabled and can't work for some time because of an accident, or heart attack / stroke or cancer.
It was so busy that I could barely keep up with handing out FREE WATER and candy and business cards. It was 8 hours on my feet, I don't think I sat hardly once.
The big draw was a raffle for a $50 gas card, I got almost 100 entries!
Over-all it was a cost-loss, but a gain in experience and a gain in face-time. I met a lot of interesting people and I was glad to contribute to the joy of the event, especially cooling people down with ice cold water on a hot day. I was also happy to help sponsor a fun event for families.
