THE STEEMIT GREETERS GUILD NEWBIE SPOTLIGHT
===
Volume Eight
Trying to get started on Steemit can be an uphill battle. Without a good support system it’s very easy to fall between the cracks. @greetersguild specialize in helping Newbies succeed and have built one of the best Discord support systems I’ve seen.
Trained greeters welcome and encourage new members as soon as they join. A special bootcamp by @wolfhart provides basic training to help Newbies get started on the right foot. Our Library is constantly being updated with educational posts about the steemit platform and creating quality posts.
We also have channels for newbies to promote their introductions and regular posts. Our trained Scouts search through these channels and recommend quality content to @greetersguild writers for their daily publications. This “Newbie Spotlight” is one of those publications.
Please join the @greetersguild on their mission by encouraging these Newbies through comments, upvotes, and/or resteems.
@martinsu
Our first Newbie enjoys traveling, trekking, and outdoor adventures. Although disappointed somewhat about not making enough money to fund his adventures, he plans on sticking around as long as he’s having fun. And as he puts it, “Besides, if I work hard here until the end of this year, I can still buy myself a good pair of merino woolen socks for hiking! 👌”
@martinsu comes from Estonia and hopes to improve his English through blogging. He really enjoys engaging other fellow adventurers through reading their posts and commenting. He’s even willing to possibly join other trekkers offline and plan co-adventures.
Unlike many bloggers his adventures often take him to off the grid places and he may be “gone, lost, invisible or whatever, sometimes for many days or even weeks in a row.” But it sounds like the wait will be worth it. Please check out the link below and welcome this adventurer into our community.
Time To Introduce New Wannabe-Adventurer To Steemians - Here I Am!

@naluua
Our next newbie, an named Indira, first heard about steemit from a crepe vendor in Thailand. She recalls the experience by telling us, “My face had to be so funny as he couldn't stop laughing at me.”
Even though she is already a blogger she is still a little lost and confused on the steemit platform. She describes it like this, “Every time that I read about it or someone "explain" me something, is like they are speaking in japanese.” She wonders if there are other newbies as lost as her. This is typical for newcomers and one of the reasons @terminallyill started Greeters Guild in the first place.
Indira writes on steemit in both English and Spanish. she has already started blogging about her adventure to Thailand. It is quite an amazing story that you can read about here. Let’s make sure we give her a warm welcome and encouragement by upvoting, and/or commenting on the post above or her introduction post below.

@amy.hill
Many newcomers on steemit are facing some pretty tough circumstances in the real world. They need encouragement that goes beyond a wish for success on steemit and sometimes they need a helping hand. This is when connection and community become even more important.
This is the case for our next Newbie, Amy Hill. First she had to deal with getting used to a new career. Then she found out her partner of 10 years had been having an affair and was leaving her just as they were about to close on a house.
The SanFrancisco Bay area is literally the most expensive place to live in the United States. On an impulse, and with the promise of a friend, she made a very unusual purchase. She says, “My living quarters have been steadily shrinking in the ten years I’ve lived here, but this is the first time that my home will actually be situated on wheels.”
The home she bought was a camper and her friend promised her a place to put it. Unfortunately that fell through and she’s looking for a new space. This is where we as a community might be able to help. Let’s spread the word by resteeming this post and using all of our social media and real life connections. Who knows we might be able to connect with someone who could help or she could actually get enough votes to help her purchase her own land. Check out her story below and do whatever you can to support this fellow steemian.
