Our last day in Salalah was saved for the best spots of our tour. Ain Sahalnoot truly proved to be one of them. They have two wonders in this destination but I will share the first spot that my husband and I first ventured. Just a 25 minute ride from our hotel, we were filled with excitement, eager to see what awaited us at this destination.
The moment the doors opened, surprise greeted us, we had arrived directly on a river pathway! Moving out the cool water submerged our slippers and pants. Instead of irritation we felt an urge to venture. My husband and I swapped smiles. We knew this was only the opening of something memorable.
While we were still taking in the surroundings my husband caught the faint sound of flowing water. With curiosity lighting up his face, he urged me to follow him in that direction. There was no precise surfaced line to guide us. Only those uneven stones and rugged ground bordered by thick vegetation. The air carried a crisp earthy smell after a mist. The surrounding mountains stood tall, cloaked in layers of rich green. Step by step we meticulously made our way forward. The sound of rushing water grows clearer longing us on. My husband prompted me to watch my steps but my heart was already racing in excitement about what stick ahead.
We came to the root of the sound. An alluring waterfall spilling down a lush hillside. It was bound by wildflowers and roaring flora. Its soft roar echoes through the area. It mixed with the whispers of the air that creates a tranquil harmony that infused our feelings. We stood there in wonder letting the beauty of the scene sink in. We feel completely parted from the outside world.
Following the flow further we found a wonderful vivid overflowing pool at the waterfall’s end. The water was a wonderful glare of blue green with lively trees and lush bordering it. Smaller flow trickled into the pool, adding a gentle rhythm to the serene scene. My husband and I paused in wonder hearts racing with joy at the beauty before us.
My husband and I found a smooth stone to sit on. It allows ourselves to fully absorb in the serenity. The only sound was the mellow hum of flowing water. A tune that seemed to slow down time itself. In that quietness every worry thawed away. It was replaced by a heartfelt sense of serenity and awe. Sitting side by side we felt completely connected not just to each other, but to the quiet pattern of nature around us.
