Hola hivers amigos argentinos. Una vez más me sumo a las iniciativas propuestas por esta comunidad suramericana que en esta oportunidad nos viene con un tema bastante bonito e importante, porque sonreír no cuesta, y sin embargo, es un gesto de gran valor.
Una sonrisa es señal de que todo está bien, de alegría, de optimismo ante los retos de la vida, de resiliencia y de fortaleza de espíritu. Por eso es que se dice que aunque el mundo se te venga encima, pon una sonrisa en tu rostro y sigue adelante. Decía mi bisabuela que la procesión se lleva por dentro, que no es necesario ni mucho menos sano andar por ahí serios y cabizbajos regando dolor en los demás.
A veces sucede también que nos encontramos a alguien que va con problemas encima y una sonrisa puede alegrarle su mundo.
Sonreír es un acto de valentía, y más hoy en día con tantos amargados y obsesionados que se están viendo. Marca una diferencia y se hace notar entre miles.

Yo, por ejemplo, me considero una persona risueña. Me río hasta de mis tropiezos por no prestar atención al caminar. La risa es algo que no falta en mí, me identifica.
Sonrío al saludar, al llegar a un lugar, al ver a mis allegados, si alguien me piropea y no es grosero, también ante la dicha de los demás, cuando me dan buenas noticias, cuando estoy feliz, cuando escucho música, cuando degusto mis comidas favoritas, cuando leo mensajes de personas especiales, cuando de un árbol me cae una flor, cuando me ven mis alumnos en la calle, cuando recibo un regalo... Todos son momentos felices y en agradecimiento y como pago, una sonrisa es lo mejor y más sincero que puedo dar.
Pero también sé "poner" una sonrisa cuando estoy triste, cuando algo no me sale bien y luego de sobrepensar las cosas, llego a la conclusión de que por algo no fue así, también cuando alguien me da ánimo para seguir adelante, si perdí a alguien, al recordar los buenos momentos, y así en muchos otros casos más.

¿Por qué no sonreír cuando sé que tengo gente que me quiere, no me acuesto sin comer, un techo me guarece, tengo empleo y gano salario por ellos, puedo hacerle regalos a mis padres y salir de paseo con mi hermanita? Son motivos suficientes para no dejar de hacerlo nunca. Al menos no mientras me dure todo eso, y si llegara el momento en que lo pierda (ojalá no) tocará entonces sonreír por lo que fue y seguir adelante. Si tú también los tienes, sonríe, que eres afortunad@.
La sonrisa se contagia casi igual que la risa, das una y la recibes de vuelta, o si la recibes primero, la devuelves... Es una cadena que no se rompe mientras haya todavía personas que sepan lo valioso que es. Y sé que aquí en @hiveargentina hay muchas personas conscientes de ello porque reflexionan al respecto y cuando se piensa y se valora algo se comprende mejor.

A smile is a sign that everything is okay, of joy, of optimism in the face of life's challenges, of resilience, and of strength of spirit. That's why they say that even if the world is crashing down around you, put a smile on your face and keep moving forward. My great-grandmother used to say that we carry our sorrows inside—it's neither necessary nor healthy to go around serious and downcast, spreading pain to others.
Sometimes it also happens that we come across someone burdened with problems, and a smile can brighten their world.
Smiling is an act of bravery, especially nowadays with so many bitter and obsessive people around. It makes a difference and stands out among thousands.

I, for example, consider myself a cheerful person. I even laugh at my own stumbles when I'm not paying attention while walking. Laughter is something that never fails me—it's part of my identity.
I smile when greeting someone, when arriving somewhere, when seeing my loved ones, if someone gives me a respectful compliment, in the face of others' happiness, when I receive good news, when I'm happy, when listening to music, when enjoying my favorite foods, when reading messages from special people, when a flower falls on me from a tree, when my students see me on the street, when I receive a gift... These are all happy moments, and in gratitude and as a reward, a smile is the best and most sincere thing I can give.
But I also know how to "put on" a smile when I'm sad, when something doesn't go well and after overthinking, I come to the conclusion that things happen for a reason, when someone encourages me to keep going, if I've lost someone, when remembering good times, and in many other cases.

Why not smile when I know I have people who love me, I don't go to bed hungry, I have a roof over my head, I have a job and earn a salary, I can give gifts to my parents and go out with my little sister? These are enough reasons to never stop smiling. At least not as long as I have all that, and if the moment comes when I lose it (I hope not), then I'll smile for what was and keep moving forward. If you have these things too, smile—you are fortunate.
Smiling is almost as contagious as laughter—you give one and receive one back, or if you receive one first, you return it... It's a chain that doesn't break as long as there are still people who understand its value. And I know that here in @hiveargentina, there are many people aware of this because they reflect on it, and when you think about and value something, you understand it better.
