Decentralised Art. Think about it.

@grindle · 2025-09-03 13:04 · Sticker Art

Think of art galleries, maybe museums, as a kind of fb environment where everything is controlled by the man. You see what they want you to see, when they want you to see it.

City walls on the other hand are a blank canvas accessible to all, and if you will, a "decentralised" form of art, open to anyone who wishes to see it, wishes to add to it. Not controlled by the man....?

So! Puuhlease! don't tell me this ain't art in its own right. I captured these mostly in the Jewish Quarter of Budapest. Slap on posters, stickers whatever you call them, are often amusing, controversial, political or just plain laugh out loud.

So come stroll with me lets look at a real life art gallery

See, look, listen to me, it is not all about mindless scrotes with too much time on their hands. This one, as an example was created by Eszteró Anett, a globally renowned freelance graphic designer. It is simple, it has charm it is fucking gorgeous.

A lot of this art was undertaken by a guy handled @0036MARK, drawing on cartoon images from Hungarian cartoon tv series. This one is a satirical muse on how "Duck Tales" was cut short on TV when they announced the death of the first freely elected Prime Minister József Antall. Awesome

Respect to Miss KK, another Hungarian artist, who passes on life messages in her outstanding work, she incorporates as many as 50 photo images to creat a single doll

Took me awhile to see this is a pair of opposite facing skulls, I was more concerned that Ombre was getting more than his fair share of the ladies!

Where else can one see such a dynamic art scene? A constantly evolving landscape, new stickers added, older ones fading or being covered,

Often reflecting local subcultures, music scenes, and social movements, do they not offer us travellers a glimpse into the city's identity.
