2016, saw the opening of the exhibition “Doll in Art” at the Heydar Aliyev Centre.
The exhibition displays 230 dolls and handicrafts of 60 artists from 16 countries.
A wonderful exhibition of art a huge room of dolls and puppets, so let's go snap some art.
Pediophobia: The fear of dolls
Pupaphobia: The fear of puppets
Most of these works of art on display are one offs, they would have a high monetary value if ever sold I am sure. A lot too have won prizes at international doll festivals,
The figures are contain characters from fairy stories, movies, and literary works, and sometimes just from the creators imagination
The dolls are made of many different mediums; porcelain, paper, plastic, wood and various fabrics and some have nice pert boobies too
A proper dandy the expression says so much
I don't think I saw any of these dolls being taller than 12",
The skill of the creator, especially this exhibit is phenomenal, the facial detail is stunning, I wonder if it has been 3D printed or something.
About 12 months ago I bought a nice big rubber hood to slip on for when the need arises.
No people, not a gimp mask,(I prefer leather), but an anti reflection lens hood. As these exhibits were all behind glass with different light sources i shoved it on, have to say it was worth the investment as I personally am happy with the work it did.
