What a stunning young lady, life is cruel, life is short, for some.

But others see old bones

What is the first thing you notice? A sea of faces, a multitude of faces looking back at you from the tombstones. The faces of dead men, dead women, residents in the blackness of eternity.

I love to see these vintage snaps of the dead.

Here lies Mordechai, son of Hagai, on the holy Sabbath, the 21st of the month of Cheshvan. KHUDADATOV MARDACAY KHAGAEVICH 1941-1976 In memory from his mother, Istira

YUSHVAEV MANAKHIM SHAULOVIC 1893-1975 IN MEMORY FROM THE FAMILY

Modern laser engraved marble will last so much longer

The style of tombstone, featuring detailed portraits and symbols of wealth, is characteristic of so-called "gangster graveyards" in SSR's .......who knows

If you spot Jewish tombstones that have a plastic covering.... It is a custom, to only unveil the tombstone a year after the burial.

I shall leave you with this... four tombstones together: mother Golda, father Ephraim and children Eliya and Hava. Eliya was seven and Hava was five when the whole family died in a plane crash in Russia in 2008... They were just passengers on Aeroflot flight 821. The cause of the crash was given as pilot error and alcohol consumption... Hmmmm???
Among the passengers was Russian Colonel General Gennady Troshev, an adviser to the President of Russia and commander of the North Caucasus Military District (including Chechnya) during the Second Chechen War... Form your own conclusions!
