Hey All,
I guess this is getting intresting as I explore more and more data on the HIVE Blockchain. In my recent last two blog post, I have been foscuing around the #HIVE Power Up trends i.e. HIVE POWER & HIVE REPUTATION and then moved onto seeing the Hive Power-Up Trends: Yearly, Monthly & During Hive Power-Up Day and now this post which is around knowing about the - "Top 10 largest one-time Hive Power Ups in History" data and some charts being plotted around this data which I retrieved querying HiveSQL queries via the DBeaver application. Here is the running query and its output shown in the DBeaver
Top 10 largest one-time Hive Power Ups in history.
SELECT TOP 10
to_account AS [User],
hive_vested AS PowerUpAmount,
[timestamp] AS PowerUpDate
FROM VOTransferToVestingCompleteds
ORDER BY hive_vested DESC;

The above table highlights users in bold who powered up more than 1M+ #HIVE and the respective date when this was done. Ok have got this number so what next? I thought, why not look at users who have powered up at least 5K+ HIVE in a single transaction? Don’t you think it would be interesting to see this data? Well lets explore and see what we get out of this data. The query was not that hard to trigger all I needed was to set a limit to #HIVE power up being greater than 5K+
Single HIVE power-up amount ≥ 5000 HIVE
SELECT
to_account AS [User],
[timestamp] AS PowerUpDate,
hive_vested AS PowerUpAmount
FROM VOTransferToVestingCompleteds
WHERE hive_vested >= 5000
ORDER BY [timestamp];
I got like 2K+ records so not worth placing the out here and I thought its better to plot some graphs out of the data. So what I did is splitted Hive power transactions into five different categories being represented in different color-coded dots. Like the following::
- 5K – 10K HIVE (blue)
- 10K – 50K HIVE (green)
- 50K – 100K HIVE (orange)
- 100K – 500K HIVE (red)
- 500K+ HIVE (purple)
And here is what I got::
Did I stop here? Short answer no and I further refined my query to get this number to explain the above plotted graph in some more meanginful form. Hence, I simply grouped users by #HIVE PowerUpAmount ranges and got the count of users in each range. Here is the out of the query.
Hive Power Up Range | Number of Users |
---|---|
5K – 10K HIVE | 427 |
10K – 50K HIVE | 334 |
50K – 100K HIVE | 58 |
100K – 500K HIVE | 44 |
500K+ HIVE | 11 |
Overall, it was a great learning experience to pull records, explore, and observe the Hive Power-Up Trends: Top 10 largest one-time Hive Power Ups in History & More.... It’s always insightful to see how Hive Power fluctuates over time, and how community activity peaks during Power-Up Days. This analysis not only deepens understanding of the Hive network but also highlights patterns of engagement and growth. Do you agree? That’s all for today’s post on “Hive Power-Up Trends: Top 10 largest one-time Hive Power Ups in History & More..” And before I end here is one final image I tired plotting with the data I had retrieved... here is the image..
Do you like image and the numbers it is showing? Isn’t it fascinating to see how many users powered up such significant amounts of HIVE? It makes you wonder - what other insights could we uncover if we dig a little deeper?
I hope I was able to explain things clearly. If you have any follow-up questions or doubts, please feel free to share them in the comments below. Happy Learning with HiveSQL....Cheers...
