That morning, the atmosphere on this small street felt so peaceful. A gentle breeze carried the scent of wet earth lingering from the previous night's rain. Leaves glistened in the sunlight beginning to emerge from behind thin clouds, while small birds could be heard calling to each other from the towering coconut trees at the roadside. Their calls were like a welcome song to a new day in this village.
I stood for a moment at the roadside, noticing every detail that might often be overlooked in everyday life. The rows of ornamental plants along the fence looked fresh, their colors contrasting with the gray, slightly cracked asphalt. At the end of the street, a green and yellow gate stood firmly, as if welcoming anyone who passed through. Beneath its simplicity, there was a calming beauty, a beauty not found in the noisy and bustling city.
This atmosphere made me think about how quickly time passes. This road used to feel long, but now it feels so short. Perhaps it's because I've traveled it more often, or because I'm enjoying each step more. This is where I learned to appreciate the little things the sound of crickets in the afternoon, the shadows of trees on the road, or even the breeze rustling the leaves. All these things are simple, but they have their own way of calming the heart.
Every corner of the village has a story. A house under construction on the left side of the road seems to signal a slow but steady change. But on the other side, a long-standing coconut tree continues to preserve the village's identity, preventing it from losing its identity. Amidst the changes and the tranquility, I realized that life is like this road winding, sometimes lonely, but always leading us to a meaningful place if we pay attention.
I smiled a little before continuing on. The sky was starting to brighten, signaling a busy day ahead. But before everything began, I took a moment to savor this tranquility. Because behind the silence, there's always a peace that makes the heart feel like home.
