I captured these photos using my smartphone camera, capturing a simple yet detailed moment in nature. On the surface of this weathered log, several mushrooms with thin, elongated stems and small, dark caps grow, seemingly dancing in the breeze. I photographed from a close distance so that every texture, from the cracked wood grain to the unique mushroom shapes, could be clearly seen.
The photos were taken outdoors on an overcast day, so the soft natural light helped bring out the natural color nuances without creating harsh shadows. After capturing these photos, I did some light editing using Photoshop Express. The editing focused on adjusting the lighting, contrast, and sharpness, making the texture of the log and the mushroom shapes appear more vibrant while still maintaining a natural feel.
For me, moments like this are a reminder that natural beauty often comes in unexpected places. Even in a dead log, new life continues to grow, telling its own story for anyone willing to look closer.
