I love science and I love science fiction and fantasy of course. It is an exciting topic to write about it and I thank @les90 for it. Human life is indeed finite and many authors and movie makers can imagine the possibilities of ending. If you saw "I am a Legend" you will probably see the possibility of being the last human left after a terrible apocalyptic event. In the movie, it was a virus that wiped off humanity or transformed the ones left as mutants, zombie-like, that are nocturnal. The main character played by Will Smith tries to survive during his loneliness. In the end, he finds some other survivors immune to the virus like him. By the way, there will be another movie exploring this story. So what if I were in a situation like that?
The first thing to explore is the collapse of society and infrastructure that we know right now. So I would need to re-adapt to a new way of life. Despite of being a virus, a natural event or a war, it would result in the same thing: no more electricity, water in pipes, and no more supermarkets and restaurants. So the day after the apocalyptic event is to check that it is safe to go out and start planning my self-structured bunker for survival. By luck, I have solar panels, so I already have some electrical self-sustained energy at home. For water, there is a river not very far, I can even use my bicycle if I can't use my car anymore. So water and electrical power, I don't see any problems with it.
Maybe I would need to improve and adapt my house to get more security, since if there is any other survivor who wants to steal my home, I need to protect it more, especially my backyard glass door. Maybe the best would be to seal this other door for safety concerns, in addition to getting a gun, there are places around town that I can find guns, like Canadian Tire. I just hope that I get there before everyone takes all the stock. I am usually against having a gun at home, but in this type of situation, it would be important to keep myself alive to defend myself and perhaps hunt animals that can be used as a food source.
Ok I have a home, with some safety, electricity, and a water source. For food, like I mentioned, I could use some deer that live around my town. Usually,I wouldn't target them ,but in this case, I would start using them as a food source, especially during the wintertime when I wouldn't be able to plant anything. I have a large backyard and it would be nice to use it fully to grow my crops, and finally, I would have a good excuse to get rid of my kids' trampoline that occupies a quarter of my soil.
Maybe the biggest challenge would be to be myself. I wish that at least my family would stay with me, or at least I am lucky to find a dog like the character of the movie got one. For sure I will be very busy during the day, trying to reinforce the safety of my home or trying to figure out new ways to improve my life inside my home. One thing that would be interesting is to watch and hear growing again, like the movie portraits.

Eu adoro ciência e, claro, ficção científica e fantasia. É um tema empolgante para escrever sobre ele e agradeço a @les90 por isso. A vida humana é realmente finita e muitos autores e cineastas conseguem imaginar as possibilidades de um fim. Se você assistiu a "Eu Sou uma Lenda", provavelmente verá a possibilidade de ser o último humano remanescente após um terrível evento apocalíptico. No filme, foi um vírus que exterminou a humanidade ou transformou os que restaram em mutantes, semelhantes a zumbis, que são noturnos. O personagem principal, interpretado por Will Smith, tenta sobreviver durante sua solidão. No final, ele encontra outros sobreviventes imunes ao vírus, assim como ele. Aliás, haverá outro filme explorando essa história. E daí se eu estivesse em uma situação dessas?

Independentemente de ser um vírus, um evento natural ou uma guerra, o resultado seria o mesmo: sem eletricidade, sem água encanada, sem supermercados e restaurantes. Então, no dia seguinte ao evento apocalíptico, vou verificar se é seguro sair e começar a planejar meu bunker autoestruturado para sobreviver. Por sorte, tenho painéis solares, então já tenho energia elétrica autossustentável em casa. Para água, há um rio não muito longe; posso até usar minha bicicleta se não puder mais usar meu carro. Portanto, água e energia elétrica não vejo problemas.
Talvez eu precise melhorar e adaptar minha casa para ter mais segurança, já que se houver algum outro sobrevivente que queira roubar minha casa, preciso protegê-la mais, especialmente a porta de vidro do meu quintal. Talvez o melhor seja selar essa outra porta por questões de segurança. Além de conseguir uma arma, há lugares pela cidade onde posso encontrar armas, como a Canadian Tire. Só espero chegar lá antes que todos levem todo o estoque. Geralmente sou contra ter uma arma em casa, mas nesse tipo de situação, seria importante me manter vivo para me defender e talvez caçar animais que possam ser usados como fonte de alimento.
Ok, eu tenho uma casa com alguma segurança, eletricidade e uma fonte de água. Como alimento, como mencionei, eu poderia usar alguns veados que vivem perto da minha cidade. Normalmente, eu não os caçaria, mas neste caso, eu começaria a usá-los como fonte de alimento, especialmente durante o inverno, quando não conseguiria plantar nada. Tenho um quintal grande e seria ótimo usá-lo totalmente para cultivar minhas plantações e, finalmente, eu teria uma boa desculpa para me livrar do trampolim dos meus filhos, que ocupa um quarto do meu solo.
Talvez o maior desafio seja ser eu mesmo. Gostaria que pelo menos minha família ficasse comigo, ou pelo menos eu tivesse a sorte de encontrar um cachorro como o personagem do filme teve um. Com certeza estarei muito ocupado durante o dia, tentando reforçar a segurança da minha casa ou tentando descobrir novas maneiras de melhorar minha vida dentro de casa. Uma coisa que seria interessante é assistir e ouvir crescendo novamente, como nos retratos do filme.
