Hello weekend warriors!
I found a very nice place to spend my sunday. I saw a sign next to the road that pointed out to a place called playa paçô and a fort paçô. I thought it looked like the middle of nowhere, so I needed to check it out.
When I came here, it was still pretty empty. There were maybe ten other campervans and a handful of cars in the parking lot. It looked very promising.
I took a little walk to the beach for a quick look and it was very nice.
When I turned back to have some breakfast, I spotted showers and toilets. What a perfect place for a vanlife beach day.
After breakfast, it was time for some walkies. I spotted a signe that pointed towards a wooden trail, so I followed it. Soon, I saw the fortification of Fort Paçô.
It was built somewhere around the end of the 17th century. So more than 300 years old. I love that these things still stand strongly. Probebly, they renovated it, but still pretty cool.
Past this fort, there is a nice part of the beach where waves are smashing against the rocks. It's a pretty rugged coastline.
There is a very dangerous current here in the sea.
I continued to walk the trail. I was curious where I would bring me.
It was a route to the lighthouse. I already passed it while I was driving, so that was a very good destination for this walk.
That's as far I went towards the lighthous. It is too steep, and I don't have the right shoes on my feet. But the views from this high were pretty nice.
A bit further, I came across this sign. Prehistoric rock drawings. How cool is that. I am so excited that I saw this. Now I only need to find them.
And that was harder than it looked. I was really struggling with these rocks. I couldn't find them anywhere. I was so disappointed.
And then I also realised that I was burning my feet here. I was time to head back to the van.
But the views from here we're pretty nice.
