Earlier today, I heard some noise on the street and I went out to check what’s happening around me. Sadly, it’s a husband and wife beating each other. The wife complained that her husband beats her all the time and she’s tired of it.
It’s really sad. What did God teach us? He taught us to love one another. Most importantly, God told husbands to cherish their wives which is the topic I want to ponder on today.
Ephesians 5:28 tells us that; “So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.”

The first thing for a man who feels he is due for marriage to do is that, he needs to love himself. And not only the man needs to love himself, the woman needs to do so as well.
If you love yourself, you will love your spouse. I think this is a bit easy arithmetic. The Bible tells us to love and cherish our partners just as we love ourselves. Love knows no bound and when you are deeply in love with someone, you will never want to hurt them because you would not want to hurt yourself.
If you ever see that your partner has offended you, you both should talk about it. Everything can be resolved. It is better to communicate than beating each other. That’s the worst part of marriage which God never allows.
If beating ever happens in marriage, have in mind that it is the work of Satan. Spouses should try their best to make sure that Satan doesn’t penetrate into their marriages.
