I was a bit late to the indoctrination but I’m glad I was able to catch up a few sermons by Pastor Eli. Pastor Eli spoke about how people would rather choose riches instead of good name.
That’s wrong. Yes, we all know that a good name is different from riches. Your riches ends here on earth but your good name will continue to work for you even in Heaven.
Then, he used the Bible verse, Proverbs 22:1 as a sermon scripture which tells us that; “A good name is more desirable than great riches;”
If the Holy Bible can tell you that a good name is better that great riches, no one should tell you otherwise. What are your achievements on earth? What are the things that you did during your lifetime? If they are great works, definitely, you great works will give you a good name which God will also be recognized.

Also, let’s read Luke18-22. It says; “A certain ruler asked him, “Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”
“Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone.” “You know the commandments: ‘You shall not commit adultery, you shall not murder, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, honor your father and mother.’[a]”
“All these I have kept since I was a boy,” he said.”
“When Jesus heard this, he said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
Brethren, try your best to build a good name. A good name is nothing compared to riches.
