If we are to talk about one of the luckiest people on earth, the thief on the cross should always be number one because there is no better luck than having a sinner make heaven at the last minute.
Truly, there may be some people who will have the same benefit as the thief on the cross but what if it doesn’t happen to everyone? This is why we have to work for it. If we want to make heaven, we have to work for it. How are the ways in which we can work for heaven? We should do right by people, we should follow the ways of Jesus Christ and we should practice Christianity according to the way in which it is to be practiced.

The first time the thief on the cross met Jesus Christ was when he was nailed on the cross alongside Jesus Christ. Then, Jesus Christ found out that the thief has neither met him nor heard about him before.
If we open our Bibles to check Luke 23:43, it was a statement made by Jesus Christ to the thief on the cross which says, “And Jesus said unto him, Verily, I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise”
And that was it. That’s how the thief who has sinned all through his days was lucky to meet with Jesus Christ and given a free ticket or access to heaven.
You and I may not be the lucky one but we can be lucky if we work towards doing the right thing.
