Religion can mean so many things but in my words, I can say that religion is what brings us together with God. The moment when we leave heaven and come to earth, we have somehow detached from God.
Normally, we are not supposed to get detached from God and as a result of that, we have to reunite back with God and on doing that, religion comes in. Religion is the act of praising and worshipping God so He can always answer our prayers and we can always rely on Him.
The true worship means religion and it means worshipping God in truth and indeed.
James 1:26 tells us that; “If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.”
This is true. Even though some people may be practicing religion, their act of practice may still fall in vain. Going to the church, there are now different sets of people. There are ones who only want to go to church to impress some people with their mode of dressing and so much more. Those acts do not make any sense. We should do religion not because we want anyone to see us do it or impress anyone but we should do it because we have to bind or reunite back with God.
