RE: Alien Earth (series) and why I don't like it

For me the fact they created some competitors to weylund-yutani means they can do anything they want in this universe without them negating anything from the originals. They have established that the intel from these creatures are worth billions or trillions of dollars so it would actually be outrageous to believe any corporation would follow any rules in obtaining these valuable assets. They may even tell their employees their are rules… and them break them in order to profit. That’s actually the lot of aliens. They are breaking all the rules but ripely stops them. I actually think it would be less realistic if a corporation was like “oh no. I’ll protect the earth and humanity instead of making a profit.” That has never, not will ever happen in reality. It’s kind of like corporations slapping “recycle” on items they damn well know can’t be recycled. Corporations will opt for profits no matter what the long term cost. That is why I think the show is a brilliant continuation of the story.
