A Journey Painted With Shadows and Creatures.

Yesterday was Tuesday. I went to pick my children up from school, and on our way back, we had quite an adventure, so to speak. My son, full of excitement, suggested I take pictures of the animals we met along the road. First, we came across a gathering of pigeons scattered across the ground, pecking at grains and moving restlessly as though in a meeting.

My son says this particular pigeon walks majestically like a soldier, who is ready to fight and defend its fellow pigeons from harm and danger. Actually, I thought so too because its steps were firm and solid, without fear. Even when my daughter tried to chase it, it didn't fly; it just kept walking as if it were a queen.

But it eventually flew up first on a rooftop and finally on a streetlight on its own terms.

Then secondly, we saw a strong bull with wide, curving horns bent into its food box, chewing cassava peels and other things, with quiet power. He was especially intrigued by the huge horns. He just stood there, amazed, and was very happy watching me snap some shots.

Not far away, as we walked into a street, there was a gentle cow by the side of the street, with its soft brown eyes lowered as it ate stalks, cassava peels, and other things as well. My son especially likes its eyes; he said gently, "Mum, the cow has beautiful eyes." immediately, I turned to check if my son was actually crushing on a brown cow, for heaven's sake. He stared back at me and immediately smiled, as if he knew what I was thinking, and I returned the smile. We walked happily along the road as I snapped photos.

As I was writing this post, my son reminded me that we also took a picture of a ram last week Friday at about 1:42 p.m. and 1:43 p.m., as we were also walking back home, "Do you remember?" he asked curiously. I just nodded, "Mum, please add it too," he pleaded.

So here's the shot of the ram I took with my Tecno spark 8c. He said its color is cool and asked, " Mum, the ram is the big brother to the sheep, right?" He looked at me wide-eyed, waiting for a confirmation answer. "Of course, my son, a ram is a boy sheep with strong, curly horns, while an ewe is a girl sheep that gives birth to baby lambs." In that moment, he smiled and thanked me.

What made the moment even more memorable was my daughter's playful idea that I should also snap our shadows stretching long across the ground. We laughed, played, and enjoyed the simple beauty around us.

The journey back home actually turned into more than just a routine walk; it became a canvas of memories. Seeing my children's joy in ordinary things reminded me that life's beauty often lies in moments we least expect. I am glad I captured these images, for they tell a story of love, laughter, and the innocence of childhood curiosity.
