Pouring my thoughts from my mind to the paper

A different kind of post for the hand written community. I think it's good to post something different from time to time, but always related to hand writing things.

So here's mine.

I never stopped in my life to write things down on paper, with pens and pencils. Sure I have my notes on the phone, that's perfect when I need to write down something quickly or when I'm going around somewhere. Also to be sure that I won't lose it (like paper sheets and notes. I always throw them somewhere and then forget where I put them 🙃).

So when do I decide to write on paper? When my mind is a mess, full of thoughts going around and getting tangled up. When I understand that it's hard to concentrate on one thing because all the others are interfering, I know it's time to sit down in front of any piece of paper I can reach out nearby and open the flow of thoughts from brain to ink.

I feel better immediately. I found out that having many things flying around my mind at the same time get me frustrated, annoyed and anxious. Feeling your mind clear and empty is a real thing. I really feel the burden leaving my head.

It's a sort of little psychologic auto-therapy for me. Then I read my thoughts on paper and now I know what to do. In order. I can give priorities. I can choose what to do today and what tomorrow. I can set deadlines.

Also writing lyrics on paper is still my preferred way. I usually put my headphones on, listen to some music that provides me the mood I want to replicate with my song. Almost every time I just catch one word or sentence and that's my starting point to write the whole lyrics. Sometimes it takes me just 10-20 minutes to write a full song lyrics. And that boosts my confidence so much every time.

And you? Why do you hand write? Do you do it for pleasure or for some necessity? How's different from writing on a screen? Sure you can comment here, but I invite you to join the community and write your own post about it. Tag me if you want, I'm interested in reading your experience!
