You are all too focused on Hive price and not what Hive really is

I don't know what kind of relationship you all have with Web 2.0 social media platforms. I'm talking about Meta (Facebook, Instagram, Threads), TikTok, YouTube, X, etc. If you still use these platforms daily, I need you to stop and think about how they work. How have they changed over the years? How have relationships between people on these platforms evolved? How has content changed in recent years?

I'll tell you my experience, let's see if you relate to it.

For every two posts from people I follow, I find an ad or paid content trying to get my attention. I no longer see my friends' posts because the algorithm says they shouldn't interest me. As soon as I talk to someone in real life about an interest or need, my smartphone's microphone listens in and I'm bombarded with ads for whatever I've talked about.

The posts that get the most attention fall into these categories: - a girl acting provocatively and/or undressing; - cute or awkward animals; - content that makes you angry and outraged; - content that makes you depressed;

And then we have content created by AI bots...

Have you ever compared the comments section on Hive to those on Instagram or TikTok? No? Well, here it is:

ONE random post I was reading on Hive

Three different posts on Instagram

Can you spot the difference?

Hive is the real social network here. People know each other. People TALK. People talk to each other. They listen and respond. Friendships are formed with people whose faces you don't even know. Based on what? The life experiences we share.

Are you a woman? You don't have to take off your clothes to get likes and comments. Are you an artist? You don't have to beg for attention. Do you share technical and scientific information? You don't have to make fun of or anger people to get them to read your article.

Do you see the value in all this? Traditional social media sucks. They're draining our brains. They're turning us into puppets. The value of Hive isn't its market price. And it's not even the people who populate it. Because there are people on the other side, too.

The value of Hive lies in the chance it gives us to talk to each other without being interrupted. Without having to rush. Without having to get angry or horny. The value of Hive lies in the opportunity it gives you to stop, take a breath, and speak your mind, without fear of being spied on, offended, sold out, attacked, or put down.

Okay, why am I bringing this up?

Because every time Hive's price drops significantly, a flood of posts about its price comes in. Of course, it's right to make optimistic posts to reassure others, talking about how it's right to build and stay for the long term. It's right to show that there are people who believe in this blockchain and intend to stay, and this creates stability and security, especially for new users. Then there are all those who keep saying, "Now is the right time to buy!" I think it's always the right time to buy Hive, since it's OUR platform. We own it.

And I'm not denying the existence of people who live off Hive's value, as well as all the developers whose work for the blockchain and our beloved apps depends on Hive's value repaying them.

Many who write and comment on these posts say, "I'm here to stay. I'm in it for the long term. Even if Hive dropped to 1 cent, I'd still be here, thanks to the community." True, but why? Think about it. Because we have no choice. Where else can you find a place where we can do everything we do here? Just imagine doing everything you do on Hive, but on Facebook, X, and YouTube. It makes me sick just thinking about it. It's simply not possible.

If your house is worth $1 tomorrow, would that be a valid reason to abandon it? Would you leave it to go live at the mall?

Hive is ours, and its value isn't in the price. That's why we're staying.
