There is something both sad and photogentic about a carnival which is not open.
Even better if it is a temporary one, and you have stumbled into it in a car park during the day, the rides and stalls as strange bright coloured shout that not one is listening to.
I mean this is normal for a holiday town I guess, but I didn't expect to see it in downtown Noumea, Rosebud or port something maybe, but not the capital city of a country.
And then of course it's in French, I mean La Peche auz Canards sound so much more exciting than Duck fishing.
