I present to you four pieces of coral close up. We are under the water in Poe Beach in New Caledonia, which is a pacific island country if you are not familiar with your geography.

Why are we this close up, well because this close coral is amazing, it is a living thing, in fact it is a very important living thing, it is absolutely vital to the marine ecosystem, it's like a forest of the sea, without them there is almost no marine life.

They are also incredibly important in a carbon capture sense, far more so than trees, to create coral you need carbon so it will suck it out of the water.

Of and it's amazingly beautiful, like a hard flower, a thousand different shades all a thousand different shapes
