Rock climbing between two night shifts

My new job is much better than all the previous ones in many things.

Timing is not one of them.

Ever since I accepted the job, I knew the shift system would annoy me and mess up my schedule and extra activities but I decided to take it anyway and find a way to squeeze my hobbies in whenever I could.

That's what I managed to do yesterday.

Weekends off are so rare that I had to settle for a weekend when I work night shifts to plan a rock climbing day with @loyaltea and her sister.

I finished work at 6 am and went straight to Zaghouan. I grabbed my climbing gear from my parents' house, had my breakfast there, and returned to the bus station where I met the girls.

They ate something from a nearby restaurant then we took a taxi to the mountain. We then walked to the climbing site.

I lead climbed one route and belayed them. It was the easiest one on the site so it was the perfect warm-up. When we moved to a harder route. I insisted that @loyaltea lead climbs it this time. It was a challenge for her and she had second thoughts along the way but,

To my delight, she finished it.

I climbed it after her. But when her sister was about to climb it, some raindrops started pouring and the wind getting violent, threatening a storm.

We decided to call it a day and quickly pack the gear. The het cough by a storm halfway down is always better than deep in the mountain. We ate the macaroni I brought and walked down the mountain to a nearby café.

Each drank his favorite drink while we had a good talk,

observing the weather getting better and better. I'm not sure I felt happy or disappointed by the storm not coming after ending our climb.

We finished the day with a small tour through the old town of Zaghouan where the architecture is unique and everything, including the roads are very old but well maintained.

I said goodbye to them at the station and went to my parets' home to put back the gear and spend some time with my family. Then I took the last bus to Tunis. I slept about two hours before I had to go to work for my night shift.

Edit: when I said "yesterday, I meant Sunday. Because I started making this post on Monday but somehow I didn't post it. (the activity count back then was 20k+. Now I see it's only 5.8k 🙁).
