Welcome to my blog.

Hello fellow Hive members, I hope you're all well. Today I'm here to show you a new illustration for the Splinterlands contest. This time, I wanted to choose a legendary character who's very good at support and damage. I'm talking about Spirit of the Forest.

This character is very good in battle because it has abilities such as:

Flying: A skill that's good for increasing evasion against enemy attacks.

Snipe: An attack that, if I'm not mistaken, hits a random target, ignoring the one in the front position.

Tank Heal: This ability helps the frontline monster last longer because it gets a small heal each turn.

Protect: This is great because it grants +2 extra shield to all allied monsters.

The story tells how, from the safety of the Elder Tree, deep in a magical forest, the Spirit of the Forest lives there. She's one of the original creators of life in the Tarnished Lands; very little happens without her knowing. She can be brought into battle by a skilled summoner, but she loves all her children just as they are, like a good mother.

Moving on to the drawing, the color palette I used is largely green. Her skin is a soft, mossy green, conveying serenity and a connection to the earth. Her hair, on the other hand, is a deeper green, with shading that gives it volume. The branches sprouting from her head have a reddish-brown hue, as she is an ancient spirit, even though she looks young.

Her red-toned eyes are the focal point. They not only contrast with the rest of the colors, but also convey power and a presence that cannot be ignored.

The dress is made of leaves and plant fibers, with tones ranging from dark green to earthy brown. It is not a decorative outfit, but an extension of her body, leaves that are part of her and help cover her. Details like the golden bracelet and the vine on her leg add a subtle touch of beauty.

The background, on the other hand, shows a lush forest, with tall, dark trees that give the character more presence. It's not a normal forest: it's a magical place, a sanctuary where the Spirit of the Forest sits to contemplate, to protect, to be aware of everything.

The choice to have her sitting on a branch was something I wanted to add. I wanted to break with the floating image of the original design and show her in a moment of great serenity, connected to her surroundings. She's comfortable, yet alert. Serene, yet powerful. The background not only accompanies her, it empowers her.

The tones of the forest range from dark greens to lighter ones, like the trunk on which she perches. The plants have rounded, soft shapes, which adds warmth. Everything in the background is designed to reinforce the idea that she is part of the forest.

I chose a stylized anime style, with clean lines, large eyes, and a soft facial expression. The Spirit of the Forest in my version isn't a heavily loaded woman like the original, but rather a more natural one, with few accessories. Her smile is subtle, her eyes are large and bright, and her relaxed posture shows that she's at peace with her surroundings.

Details like the hair falling over her shoulder, her long, delicate fingers, and the way she holds the magical sphere of nature in her hand are meant to convey power and beauty. She's not casting a spell; she's showing us her power.

The original Splinterlands design presents the Spirit of the Forest as a floating figure, with a more abstract aesthetic. She's powerful, yes. Her role is clear: support and protector of the team.

My version, on the other hand, seeks to humanize the Spirit of the Forest without losing her essence. I make her part of the forest, giving her an expression, a posture, a background. She's not just a battle card; she's a living creature, with emotions, a history, with a role that goes beyond combat.
