El día de hoy quiero contarles sobre una película que acabo de ver en Netflix, esta película ya tiene sus años, es antes de que Morgan Freeman se convirtiera en Dios, pero que es muy buena, o al menos a mí me lo pareció. Grande fue mi sorpresa al enterarme de que esta película es una adaptación de una novela corta del amo del terror, Stephen King, llamada “Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption”.

Todo comienza con Andy Dufresne un alto ejecutivo de un banco que es acusado y sentenciado por el doble homicidio de su esposa y su amante, un instructor de golf, por lo que es enviado a la prisión estatal Shawshank para que cumpla 2 cadenas perpetuas. La prisión es dirigida por un Alcaide religioso que sólo cree en la palabra de Dios y el castigo físico, por lo cual se hace de la vista gorda cuando sus carceleros golpean brutalmente a los prisioneros.

La primera petición que hace Andy a Red, es que le consiga un pequeño martillo para rocas, un pequeño artilugio que utilizan los amantes de la geología para romper y tallar piedras, ya que es el único pasatiempo que tendrá durante sus años de vida en prisión. Y así poco a poco Red y Andy van forjando una amistad entre ellos y con un grupo de reclusos.

La película me pareció excelente, ya que refleja muy bien lo podrido que está el sistema, la falta de justicia y el poco interés que existe en reformar y rehabilitar a los reos; al mismo tiempo tiene un mensaje fuerte sobre la amistad y la perseverancia y que todo se puede lograr si eres lo suficientemente listo y te apegas al plan.
