2025 has been amazing so far but there has been some situations that I would term as bad because losing relatives can be disheartening. Looking back at when we were celebrating the new year, it feels like just a few weeks back but the year has been so fast and not everything has been going according to your plan. I remember when one of our prayer points was not to lose any family member to the cold hands of death but nature has it that death is inevitable for every man and when it comes we must accept it.
Losing my uncle and Aunt was a big deal for me and my family in general from my paternal side. Apparently, my uncle was a farmer who goes to The Bush to plant and grow his crops. Unfortunately, on this day he set out as usual in the early hours of the morning to harvest some palm kernel and palm wine from his farm. He had set his tools the previous day to collect this local wine that is common in Nigeria but unfortunately when he was tapping the wine something stung him on the neck and he fell on his back. It was so bad that he could not move and was there for hours because it was an isolated location.
After some hours, he was found and rushed to the hospital by good Samaritans but it took a while and he could not move on his own. He was transferred back to his home and was bed reading for some months before he gave up the ghost. They had not buried him for more than two weeks before his twin sister also died. Although, I do not know the indepth cause of her death but it was tragic to the extent that people attached cultural belief to it saying that she wanted to join her twin brother.
The year has not been rosy and has been had for family members but we must stand strong, so that we that are alive can live a meaningful life.
