We continue our exploration of the various works done during the latest edition of the StreetArt Under Pressure festival in Montreal. Today, it's the turn of the La Patrie building on Sainte Catherine Street, the former headquarters of the newspaper of the same name, which has been abandoned for several years. Fortunately, every year it receives a dose of love from artists who paint the wooden panels covering the doors and windows. Always better than (Street)Art is everywhere...

Nous continuons la découverte des différentes oeuvres faites lors de la dernière édition du festival StreetArt Under Pressure à Montréal. Aujourd'hui, c'est au tour du batiment La Patrie sur la rue Sainte Catherine, ancien siège social du journal du même nom, à l'abandon depuis quelques années. Heureusement que chaque année, il reçoit une dose d'amour d'artistes qui peignent les panneaux de bois qui couvrent les portes et les fenêtres. Toujours mieux quand le (Street)Art est partout...

On Ste Catherine

On Sainte Catherine Street, where the main entrance is located, the door is usually the largest work of art of the building. This time, it was created by two artists: Jasper, aka Ogkatz, a graffiti artist in a wheelchair, for the lettering and Medusa, an artist who often appears in my series. We recognize her style with this elephant head, Ganesh ?

Sur la rue Sainte Catherine où se trouve l'entrée principale du batiment, la porte est généralement la plus grande oeuvre. Cette fois elle a été réalisé par deux artistes Jasper aka Ogkatz, un writer en fauteuil roulant et Medusa, artiste souvent présentée dans ma série. On reconnait son style avec cette tête d'éléphant, Ganesh ?

Jade Bilodeau

To the right of the door is Jade Bilodeau, a Montreal artist who often appears at the Legal Wall de Rouen with her 3D flowers. And next to it is a superb panel painted by Maliciouz, which I think is my favorite work on this building.

A la droite de la porte, on retrouve Jade Bilodeau, artiste montréalaise souvent présente au Mur Légal de Rouen avec ces fleurs 3D. Et à côté, il s'agit d'un superbe panneau peint par Maliciouz, je pense mon oeuvre préférée sur ce building.

And on the left, Tchekon has spoiled us with this panel from his series “Dreams in the Rain.” The message is rather dark but unfortunately reflects the current situation around the world. As he says on his Instagram account: “This is the story of a child in the rain who dreams of eating fruit, but there is nothing left to eat on the fruit.” It's sad...

Et sur la gauche, Tchekon nous a gaté avec ce panneau de sa série « Rêves sous la pluie ». Le message est plutôt sombre mais reflète malheureusement la situation actuelle un peu partout dans le monde. Comme il le dit sur son compte instagram : " C’est l'histoire d'unenfant sous la pluie qui rêve qu'il mange un fruit mais ya plus rien à manger sur le fruit. " C'est triste...

We end our tour of Sainte Catherine Street on a lighter note with this superb lettering by an unknown artist. / FR : On termine la rue Sainte Catherine de manière plus légère avec ce superbe lettrage d'un artiste inconnu.

On Avenue Hotel de Ville

Keys

At the corner, we arrive at Hotel de Ville Street. There is a series of small wooden pannels. I think I'm missing two. I don't know why I didn't take a picture of them, but that will give me a reason to go back. The first photo shows lettering done by Keys, followed by a work by Angie Warholl, an artist based in Montreal.

Au coin de rue, nous arrivons sur la rue Hotel de Ville. Il y a une série de petits panneaux de bois. Je pense qu'il m'en manque deux. Je ne sais pas la raison pourquoi je ne les ai pas pris en photo, mais cela me donnera l'occasion d'y refaire un tour. Sur la première photo, il s'agit d'un lettrage de Keys puis une oeuvre de Angie Warholl, une artiste basée à Montréal.
